Biography
With an initial passion for dance and song, Wesley Snipes came into stardom playing a dancing street gangster who threatens Michael Jackson in the music video "Bad". Since then, Snipes has proven his diversity actor, most notably in action and comedic performances.
With insistence of friends and acquaintances that saw his natural ability for the performance arts, Snipes pursued theatre in high school and at the State University of New York. He went on to appear in Levi's 501 jeans and Coca-Cola commercials prior to making his Broadway debut in The Boys of Winter in 1985. After his performance in Jackson's video, director Spike Lee noticed Snipes and cast him for both Mo' Better Blues and Jungle Fever. In 1992, Snipes became widely noticed with the box-office hits White Men Can't Jump and Passenger 57.
