sed in a broken home from infancy to parents who were only babes themselves. Ferrell's parents were in their late teens when his mother became pregnant with him, and there was no love lost between the parents, so divorce was inevitable. Ferrell was mostly raised by his mother in Eustis, Florida where he attended grade school and high school.

As Ferrell was growing up he did not have the quality of a typical childhood. By the time he was five he had been sexually molested by his maternal grandfather, and his mother, Sondra Gibson, believed she was a vampire. Ferrell's mother would drag him along with her to cult rituals and sacrifices and influenced him with games, such as, Dungeons and Dragons instead of the typical hide and go seek. Ferrell was left with his grandparents to be raised for awhile when his mother met and fell in love with a man and moved away with him after marriage.
