Nazanin Afshin-Jam (Persian: نازنین افشین جم , born 1979 in Tehran, Iran) is an Iranian-Canadian Singer, Songwriter, International Human Rights Activist, model, musician, actress and a former Miss World Canada, and Miss World 1st runner up. She immigrated to Canada with her family in 1981.

Nazanin was born in Tehran in 1979 during the turmoil of the Iranian Revolution. Nazanin's father had been jailed and tortured by the Revolutionary Guard of the new regime. Her family was forced to leave all their worldly possessions behind and flea to freedom while her father was awaiting execution. The family's escape to Europe saved them from political persecution. Faced with adversity so early in life, the revolution impacted her core beliefs.

Throughout Nazanin's life, she has found solace in the music that surrounds her. Her mother inundated their family with music. It flowed constantly in the house from her mother's incredibly eclectic music collection....
