what is fame?

Named from both Thomas Hardy's novel Jude the Obscure and the The Beatles' song "Hey Jude", Jude Law has earned international acclaim with his British charm. In the States, the accomplished actor is best known for his impressive performances in such films as Wilde and The Talented Mr. Ripley, opposite Oscar winners Gwyneth Paltrow and Matt Damon.

Raised in South London by schoolteacher parents, Law began his career at age of 12 with the National Youth Music Theatre. His talent was noticed immediately and soon he was cast as the lead in the reverent musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Finding his calling, he quit high school at 16 when he landed a regular part on the British soap Families. Although Law grew from the role, he left to return to the London stage, promptly finding roles with the Royal Shakespeare Company.
