Juan Corona was born and raised in Mexico with his parents. Corona worked in the fields of Mexico as a fruit picker to help bring in income for his family who were also poor migrant workers. Corona seemed to have high hopes for himself, and wanted to be successful in his adulthood, so he moved from Mexico to Yuba City, California, where he again worked as a migrant worker in the fields in the 1950s. Corona suffered from severe schizophrenia, but was able to maintain a relatively normal life with a wife and two children, but Corona had a sadist personality that he kept hidden from society.
During the 1970s, Corona began to get his wish of being a successful businessman when he became a labor contractor, but his perversions kept him from really enjoying the life he had longed for. Corona began to hire out older men who were mostly misfits and outcasts in life, such as alcoholics and transients who were looking for work. Once the men had performed their jobs for Corona and expected their due pay, Corona would murder them, but not before sexually assaulting them first, and sodomizing them. Corona was so violent in his murders, that he would stab them to death with a machete and other sharp objects almost to the point of decapitation.
Corona was finally stopped when his crimes came to the forefront after many graves were discovered in his fields. Twenty-five graves were finally unearthed by 1971, and Corona was charged with the murders. All of the evidence pointed to him, and he was sentenced to twenty-five life sentences, but it was overturned after Corona was repeatedly attacked in prison and lost an eye during one attack. Through an appeal he was moved to an insane asylum after it was decided that he did not get the proper defense during his trial, and he should have been able to plead insanity. Corona now resides in an insane asylum in Yuba City, California.
