Coming out of the Jacksonville, Florida area, where bands such as Molly Hatchet have emerged, Limp Bizkit is a far cry from the typical Southern rock sound. In fact, it is a full frontal assult on the mind and body, with their blending of hard rock rhythms and hip-hop lyrics, thrown together with a DJ. The mastermind behind Limp Bizkit is lead singer Fred Durst, a former tattoo artist and current business mogul.

Durst started Limp Bizkit in 1994, when he and old friend Sam Rivers decided they wanted to be in a band. Rivers brought in his cousin John Otto and they added Wes Borland soon after to complete the original lineup. Durst and company played around the Jacksonville area and developed an underground following due to their intense stage show and raw and powerful music.
