Biography
Playing a witty yet conservative gay lawyer on NBC's Will and Grace, Eric McCormack has made an impact on critics and audiences alike. Born and raised in Ontario, Canada, McCormack began his career appearing in productions like A Midsummer's Night Dream with Ontario's Shakespeare Theatre Festival (1985 - 1990).
He made his television debut with a recurring role as a detective on Street Justice (1991 - 1993). McCormack also landed guest roles in shows like Silk Stalkings and Hat Squad and in 1992 had a part in the The Lost World, and later The Return to The Lost World. In 1994, he not only got the challenging role of Clay Mosby in Lonesome Dove: The Series, but also fell in love with the show's assistant director, Janet Holden, who later became his wife.
