Once I wrote Thongs & Bra Straps, I was criticized by many Christians. The irony is that many of them changed their minds once they read the book. Thongs & Bra Straps is my autobiography. It has led many people (men and women) to change their lives after hearing about my struggles with rape, poverty, single parenthood, dropping out, domestic violence, and abandonment. I survived all of these experiences and became one of America's youngest Black professors and doctors. I know that I have done the right thing by publishing this book. Yet, I receive emails regularly telling me that Christian women should not wear thongs or read books about them either! What do you think???
