Overcoming a severe stuttering problem as a child, singer Carly Simon became one of the most celebrated singers of the 1970s, behind such classics as "Anticipation" and "You're So Vain." Daughter of one of the founding members of the publishing house Simon & Schuster, Simon began performing folk music with her sister Lucy in the early 1960s. The duo recorded an album under the name The Simon Sisters, and even had a guest appearence on the television musical show Hootenanny.

Carly Elisabeth Simon (born June 25, 1945 in New York City) is an Academy Award, Golden Globe and two-times Grammy Awards winning American musician who emerged as one of the leading lights of the early 1970s singer-songwriter movement. She was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1994.
