Ben Affleck performed on television and in movies from early on in his life. In fact, his first performance came at the age of eight, when he had a role on the PBS documentary series, The Voyage of the Mimi. But it was not until the 1997 blockbuster Good Will Hunting that Affleck become the next screen idol. Affleck was born in Berkeley, California, but moved to Cambridge, Massachusettes at the age of three. It was there were he met best friend and, later, fellow actor and Oscar winner Matt Damon. During the ‘80s, Affleck landed several small acting parts, including an episode of ABC’s Afterschool Special.

After graduating from high school and attending one semester at the University of Vermont, Affleck moved west to Los Angeles.
