Al Pacino is a very private man. Nothing much is known about his personal life, and although a handful of famous women have been romantically linked to him, hardly anyone knows that he has a daughter (who was born in 1989) from a brief relationship with Jan Tarrant.

From the age of 2, Pacino was raised by his mother and her parents in a poor section of the Bronx after his parents divorced. Rumored to have been a fairly quiet child, Pacino wasn't even allowed out of the house to play until after he was seven. His grandparents were concerned about his safety and so kept him inside while his mother worked. At night, he and his mother would go to the movies; the next day, he would entertain himself and his grandmother by re-enacting scenes he had viewed with his mother.
